Arrangements finalized for by-elections in PB-1 Quetta

QUETTA: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said polling would take place for the by-election of PB-1 Quetta vacant seat of the Balochistan Assembly on December 23.
According to the sources in the Election Commission of Pakistan, polling would commence at 8:00am in the morning and will continue uninterrupted till 17:00pm.
All arrangements have been made by the ECP for the upcoming by-elections for a seat that fell vacant after the murder of Balochistan’s former Education Minister Shafiq Ahmed Khan who was killed by the Baloch Liberation United Front, an underground organization that supports the cause of an independent Balochistan.
The PPP has been making all out efforts to muster maximum support for its candidates from all political parties. While the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), Awami National Party and the Pashtunkhawa Milli Awami Party have agreed to withdraw their candidates from the electoral race to express solidarity with the PPPP over the killing of its senior minister, Tehrik-e-Insaf of Imran Khan has decided to pit its candidate Shahid Qazi, against the PPP candidate.
