KARACHI: A female Baloch journalist, Hina Mahgul Rind, made history in the recent elections of Karachi Press Club by becoming the first Baloch lady to be elected as a member of the Governing Body of in the 51-year history of the professional club.
Ms. Rind, a candidate of the Democrats Panel, secured the highest number of votes (414) against 19 contestants. She was on the top of the list among seven other elected members for the Governing body of the Press Club in terms of number of votes obtained.
This is the first time in the history of Karachi Press Club that a Baloch girl has been elected for such a prestigious position with the highest number of votes. Ms. Rind, who works as a business reporter with The News, a leading English language newspaper of Pakistan, went to St. Patricks Girls School and DHA Women College in Karachi. She holds a Masters Degree from Karachi.









































This is really encouraging and a positive omen for a bright future of females in the field of journalism. I extend my profuse congratulations to Miss Hina Rind for her remarkable victory in Karachi Press Club’s election.
