QUETTA: Two people, including a union nazim belonging to the Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) were killed in Khuzdar district after unknown motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire at a garage on Wednesday.
According to the local police, Abdul Rasheed, a union council nazim, was killed by unidentified attackers when he was visiting a garage on Sultan Ibrahim Khan Road to get his vehicle repaired. Armed motor cyclists opened indiscriminate fire on the union council nazim when he was standing outside the garage. The firing incident also killed a worker of the garage who was identified as Mohammad Riaz. The slain UC nazim belonged to the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Quaid-e-Azam).
Local police and the relatives of the slain elected representative attended the venue soon after getting the news. The dead bodies were handed over to the family members of the victims after the police and hospital administration completed all legal and medical formalities.
The causes of the killing could not be known. Police said they were investigating the matter. No group has accepted responsibility for the killing of the UC nazim.
The area, where the killings took place was soon cordoned off by the police and other law enforcement agencies’ personnel. Daily businesses were immediately shut due to fear among the terrorized local people.
