Sardar Sanaullah Zehri and General Qadir Baloch join PML-N
QUETTA, Jan 5: Leader of Pakistan Muslim League, Nawaz Sharif, has said after making judiciary independent, they have now to make the parliament autonomous to ensure autonomy for all the federating units.
Speaking at a news conference on the occasion of joining of his party by ex-governor Balochistan Gen (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch and chief of Jhalawan Sardar Sanaullah Zehri in Quetta, he said the present government should have given top priority to solution of problems of people of Balochistan.
He said that rule of law should prevail in the country and added that PML-N believed on independent judiciary and supremacy of the parliament.
“PML respects the mandate of PPP and government should fulfill its commitment of repealing the 17th Amendment”, he said and adding the dictator was ousted after a lot of sacrifices and PML-N would continue its effort to strengthen the democratic process in the country.
He said the Baloch leaders who have taken refuge abroad were forced to go there due to former ruler’s excesses.
He demanded that all the politically-motivated cases lodged against the political leaders should be withdrawn.
Mian Nawaz Sharif said that the killers of Nawab Akbar Bugti should be brought in the court of justice, as mere offering apology could not heal up the wounds of Baloch people.
“Killers of Nawab Bugti should be punished and a high judicial commission be constituted which investigate into his killing”, he demanded.
He was of the view that without punishing the killers of Nawab Akbar Bugti the wounds of Baloch people could not be healed up.
PML-N leader regretted over the issue of missing persons, and stressed that government should take up this issue seriously and ensure early recovery of all missing persons which according to him would restore confidence of government among Baloch people.
Referring to injustices meted out with the people of Balochistan in the past, Nawaz said that by putting political leaders and workers in torture cells the country could not be strengthened.
To a query, he emphasized that provinces should be granted provincial autonomy, as PML-N had always supported this demand of provinces.
Nawaz Sharif thanked Sardar Sanaullah Zehri and Qadir Baloch for their decision to join his party and said it would make his party stronger in Balochistan.
Earlier, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri demanded of Nawaz Sharif for bringing back Pervez Musharraf to Pakistan after coming to power and hang him publicly after trial for killing the Baloch leaders.
He said the entire Baloch people are now looking to Nawaz Sharif for solution of their problems as all other parties have failed to get the province grievances addressed properly.
He regretted and said that killer of thousands of Balochs and violator of constitution was given guard of honour instead of hanging him publicly.
On the occasion PML-N leader said that no body had raised voice when Baloch leader was brutally murdered and regretted that today there is an opportunity to take action against responsible but the incumbent government is not taking any practical step in this regard.
He assured that justice would be delivered to Baloch people and the killer of Nawab Bugti and other Balochs would be brought to justice.
Meanwhile, National Party (NP) Senior Vice President Senator Hasil Bazenjo and former President Supreme Court Bar Association Ali Ahmed Kurd met the former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
They discussed different issues regarding Balochistan particularly issue of missing persons and presented their recommendations before Mian Nawaz Sharif for their solution.
Talking to newsmen, Bazenjo said the situation in the province was miserable and the government had failed to redress the grievances of Baloch people. He said that if the issue of missing persons was not solved it would further aggravate the situation.
NP leader said that, he had discussed the issue of missing persons with Nawaz Sharif and latter had assured him to raise this issue before Federal Government.
He said that Nawaz Sharif also assured that issue of killing of Baloch leaders including Nawab Akbar Bugti, Nawabzada Balaach Marri, Ghulam Muhammad, Lala Munir and others would be raised at all platforms until the guilty persons were put on trial.
Bezinjo said that the meeting was remained positive and Nawaz Sharif agreed on the fact that there was no writ of government in Balochistan and said that mere lip services to Balochistan issue would not work and the dissatisfied Baloch people needed to be convinced by government.
Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday morning also visited the residence of former provincial minister and leader of PML-N Nawabzada Changez Marri.
Nawabzada Changez Marri hosted a breakfast in the honour of Nawaz Sharif.
Talking to newsmen, PML-N chief eulogized the role of former President Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association and said that he had played a significant role in restoration of judiciary.
He paid rich tributes to lawyers’ community for playing a gigantic role in the independence of judiciary and said that it would be written in the golden words in the history of the country.
Ali Ahmed Kurd said the Balochistan was burning as thousands of innocent people had gone missing. He said that PML-N Quaid’s visit to Balochistan and highlighting issue of missing persons would help to solve this issue and change the thinking of people.
