QUETTA: Customs Intelligence has filed cases against 8 senior fficers of Customs Collectorate for illegal clearance of cell phones.

Customs Intelligence sources told PPI here Monday that cases were registered against eight senior officers of Collectorate in the Court of Special Judge of Customs and Taxation Quetta clandestine removal of mobile phones during January 2009 to March 2009. It caused a loss of Rupees 100 million to the national kitty, source said.

Asked if any arrest was made, sources said no, but Customs Intelligence personnel were carrying out raids for their arrest. Concerned people were not cooperating Sources said adding two of the said officers had got pre arrest bail granted.
