Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Kills Two More Hazaras in Quetta
QUETTA: Two more people belonging to Hazara community fell victim of the ongoing unchecked cycle of sectarian killings in the provincial capital on Tuesday night.
According to police, unidentified armed assailants opened indiscriminate fire on two different shops at Mecongy Road. As a result, two people, belong to Hazara community were killed. The assailants fled from the scene after committing the crime.
Police and law enforcement agencies rushed to the site soon after the incident and moved the injured to nearby hospital where doctors pronounced them dead. One victim was identified as Ali Akbar. “The assailants were riding a motorbike and it appears to be a case of sectarian killing,” a senior police official said and adding that investigation into the killing was underway.
Sources said that Station House Officer (SHO) Gwalmandi, Shaukat Jadoon had been suspended for showing negligence in duty when the incident occurred. No body has been arrest in the connection.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of defunct Lashkar-e-Jhangvi calling from unspecified location to media offices claimed responsibility for killing two people belonging to Shia community at Mecongy Road.
It may be recalled here that six people, including a woman belong to Hazara community were killing and six others wounded at Spanny Road last Thursday.
